The Role

We are seeking experienced and passionate Section Waiters to join the team at Bannisters Mollymook, working across the iconic Rick Stein at Bannisters by the Sea.

As a Section Waiter, you will take ownership of your section and deliver an exceptional dining experience from arrival through to farewell. You’ll be confident managing service flow, building genuine guest connections, and providing knowledgeable food and beverage recommendations that elevate every visit.

The role and key duties

• Curate an unforgettable and personalised service experience for our guests from start to finish;
• Forge relationships with guests and locals to promote clientele loyalty & retention;
• Manage section flow effectively, balancing multiple tables while delivering personalised attention to each guest, clearing and re-setting tables, running food and conducting quality checks;
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of menus, beverage lists, wine pairings, cocktails and seasonal offerings to confidently deliver expert recommendations and upsell premium selections;
• Process payments accurately and efficiently. Handle cash, credit card transactions, and room charges according to hotel policies;
• Ensure the restaurant is presented to a high standard at all times, oversee the setup and breakdown of dining areas, assist with the setup and service of special events, banquets, and private functions as needed;

You'll thrive in this role if you have...

• Previous experience in a high-end, hatted or à la carte restaurant environment
• A current RSA Certificate and NSW Competency Card (essential)
• A genuine passion for great food, wine and hospitality
• Outstanding communication skills and a naturally engaging personality
• The ability to remain calm and organised in a fast-paced environment
• Availability to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
• Reliable transport to and from work
• Local to the South Coast region or willing to relocate
