About Bannisters Port Stephens
Located on Soldiers Point peninsula, the latest addition to the Bannisters portfolio is an ode to the glamour days of luxury hotels from the sixties and seventies. We have a range of rooms designed for calm and relaxation with either treetop or ocean views. Close to neighbouring Nelson Bay, Bannisters Port Stephens is surrounded by water and a natural koala habitat making it the perfect location for a secluded getaway. You will be joining a strong, enthusiastic team who are striving to excel and position Bannisters Port Stephens as a flagship in the region.
The role and key duties
- Deliver the perfect welcome and farewell by assisting guests with check-in and check-out;
- Finalise guest bills and process payments accurately;
- Handle pre-arrival calls and respond to guest queries via phone and email;
- Surprise and delight guests by anticipating their needs and personalising their stay;
- Build and maintain positive guest relationships to ensure repeat visits;
- Assist with reservations and liaise with other departments to ensure seamless service.
Essential criteria required to be considered
- Prior experience as a receptionist, hotel front office attendant, or similar role (essential);
- Strong numerical and administrative skills with attention to detail;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with guests and team members;
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment;
- Experience with PMS and end-of-day reconciliation (preferred);
- Tech-savvy with confidence using booking systems and Microsoft Office Suite;
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a genuine passion for hospitality;
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required.
