The Role

Spicers Vineyards Estate have an exciting new opportunity for a Front Office Attendant to join our passionate team on a casual basis in Pokolbin, Hunter Valley. As a member of our Salter Brothers Hospitality team, you’ll play a key role in creating meaningful experiences for both our guests and teammates through thoughtful service, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

About Spicers Vineyards Estate

In the heart of Pokolbin, Spicers Vineyards Estate is an intimate escape for food and wine lovers. Nestled on its own private, four-acre vineyard, the estate is the Hunter’s finest example of seclusion and privacy in a luxury setting. Set within the estate, Restaurant Botanica showcases Australian-grown ingredients and utilises classic and modern French techniques.

The Role and Key Duties

  • Provide genuine, welcoming & efficient service every time, always ensuring the guest experience and service provided is put ahead of admin work;
  • Efficiently manage guest check-in and check-out procedures, including process payments and verifying guest information, assist with room reservations, modifications, and cancellations as needed;
  • Assist guests with spa, dining and housekeeping enquiries and maintain a strong working knowledge of these departments;
  • Act as an ambassador for the hotel, provide information about our dining options, hotel amenities and offering location / area recommendations;
  • Handle guest complaints and issues with empathy and efficiency, knowing when to pass over to management to resolve issues;
  • Maintain accurate records of guest interactions, transactions, and feedback;
  • Liaise with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to fulfill guest requests and resolve issues;
  • Ensure compliance with the provisions of the Workplace Health and Safety Act and Regulations at all times.

Essential criteria required to be considered

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in a front office, reception or customer service role ideally from within a Hotel environment (essential);
  • Strong communication skills and eye for detail;
  • Positive attitude and love for customer service;
  • Ability and willingness to commence work on a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays;
  • Reliable vehicle to get to and from the property;
  • Located close to the property or a willingness to relocate.
