Reporting to the Public Relations & Communications Manager, the Public Relations & Communications Executive role supports the PR, media and communications strategy and execution for Salter Brothers Hospitality and its portfolio of hotels and experiences.
Salter Brothers Hospitality currently operates 19 retreat hotels and estates; more than 20 restaurants and bars; 8 Spa Anise spas and other wellness facilities; as well as Spicers Scenic Rim Trail, one of the largest ecotourism ventures in Queensland with 38 rooms over five campsites. There are plans for considerable growth in the near future.
The role and key duties;
- Support the PR & Communications Manager to implement a comprehensive PR, media and communications strategy to drive awareness and exposure of the SBH brand and its’ portfolio.
- Maintain the internal and external PR Calendar and manage lead times for key moments, campaigns, projects and events.
- Assist with the coordination of media events and interviews.
- Work with the PR & Communications Manager to develop and manage long and short leading pitching plans.
- Responsible for the day-to-day execution of the media pitching plan.
- Work with the PR & Communications Manager to build and maintain relationships with key media across consumer, B2B and trade.
- Develop and execute a strategic plan for Influencer engagement and align strategies to support Brands, Accommodation and F&B objectives across the portfolio.
- Maintain an up-to-date media and influencer database.
- Provide tactical support to hotel and F&B portfolio in collaboration with marketing.
- Provide tactical support for promotional campaigns, Local Area Marketing (LAM)/ hotel specific events and ensure support for all properties across the portfolio.
- Leverage brand partnerships & paid media spend to drive editorial support.
Essential criteria required to be considered;
- Degree qualified in communications, marketing or business.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience in the hospitality, in particular strong F&B experience is highly desirable and valued.
- Strong and proven expertise in public relations coordination.
- Demonstrated track record for driving media outcomes.
- Experienced in media and influencer relations.
- Solid understanding of the travel and F&B industry, media landscape; social platforms and key opinion leaders.
- Enthusiasm for learning and staying updated with industry trends and best practices.
- Detail-oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills.
