Bannisters in beautiful Port Stephens is seeking a dedicated Finance Officer to join our team. Reporting to our Portfolio Finance Manager you will have a basic understanding of accounting and financial principles gained through pursuing or completing a degree in Accounting. You will be responsible for managing financial transactions including accounts payable and receivable, preparing accurate financial reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

The role and key duties;

• Bookkeeping including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable;
• Work closely with the finance and front office teams to align customer payment methods with daily bank receipts;
• Investigate and rectify discrepancies in bank reconciliations;
• Reconcile clearing accounts for various payment methods, including Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, cash, and Stripe;
• Assist in the processing of month-end and year-end journals;
• Validate direct debit amounts from suppliers and maintain supporting documentation;
• Address ad-hoc requests from other members of the Finance department and external stakeholders;
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers;
• Other administrative duties as requested

Essential criteria required to be considered;

• Previous finance experience in the hospitality industry is essential;
• Strong stakeholder relationships skills with the ability to engage and effectively communicate with management;
• Aptitude for math, proficiency with computers including strong excel skills and the ability to manipulate raw data into valuable information;
• Demonstrate a willingness to adapt and learn across several Finance related tasks;
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines, while prioritising multiple tasks;
• Ability to work autonomously and part of a small team;
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills;
• High attention to detail, team player and proactive in all areas of work.
